Aerial Work Platform Height & Extension Test: Pushing the Limits of Safe Elevation
Share
Rigorous Testing for Maximum Performance
At Shenbai, every aerial work platform (AWP) undergoes a comprehensive height and extension test before leaving our facility. This video captures one of our truck-mounted aerial work platforms performing a full elevation and boom extension test — a critical quality assurance step that validates the machine's structural integrity, hydraulic performance, and operational safety at maximum working height.
What the Test Covers
During the test, the platform is raised to its maximum rated working height while the boom is simultaneously extended to full reach. Our engineers monitor key parameters throughout the process:
- Maximum working height — confirming the platform reaches its rated elevation under load
- Boom extension stability — verifying smooth, controlled extension without vibration or drift
- Hydraulic pressure integrity — ensuring no pressure loss at full extension and height
- Leveling system performance — confirming the work basket remains level throughout the full range of motion
- Outrigger load distribution — checking that the stabilizer system maintains safe ground contact under dynamic load
Why Pre-Delivery Testing Matters
Aerial work platforms operate in demanding environments — construction sites, power line maintenance, bridge inspection, and industrial facilities — where equipment failure is not an option. Our pre-delivery test protocol ensures that every unit shipped to customers in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and beyond meets the same exacting standards as units delivered domestically.
By testing at full rated capacity before dispatch, we eliminate the risk of field failures and give our customers confidence that their equipment will perform reliably from day one.
Built for Demanding Applications
Our truck-mounted aerial work platforms are engineered for versatility and durability. Key features include:
- High-strength steel boom construction for maximum reach with minimal deflection
- Proportional hydraulic controls for precise, smooth operation at height
- 360° continuous rotation for unrestricted working range
- Integrated safety systems including overload protection and emergency descent
- Compliance with international safety standards for global deployment
